Abstract:

Current reflexions on a philological method and theoretical basis of the literary research were the subject of the paper presented at the panel “The Grounds for the Historicizing Reading” at the XLV International Philological Conference held in St. Petersburg University, March 2016. The article based on the paper is to be published in the collection The Art of Close Reading. History, Traditions, Modernity (Moscow: IMLI RAN Publ., 2017). The Editorial Board of Literary Fact is grateful to the author and to N.N. Smirnova, the editor of the collection, for the opportunity to make a preprint in our journal.
