The name of the journal is not from Lef's “literature of fact”, but from the article “Literary Fact” by Yuri Tynyanov, in which he wrote:

“Definitions of literature, operating with its ‘main’ features, run into a living literary fact. While to give a firm definition of literature is becoming more and more difficult, any contemporary will point his finger at what a literary fact is. He will say that one thing does not belong to literature, representing a fact of poet's everyday or personal life, but the other thing, on the contrary, is precisely a literary fact.”

Abstract:

Publication of an unfinished memoir by L.K. Dolgopolov (1928–1995), a historian of the early XXth century Russian literature, and a set of documents from his archive devoted to the edition of Andrey Bely’s novel “Peterburg” in the academic book series “Literaturnye pamyatniki”.
